HIGH SCHOOL Andy Attended Stoughton High School in Stoughton , WI . He won the WIAA state championship in 1975 and 1976 at 126 and 132 pounds.
COLLEGE Andy received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Agricultural Economics.

While a coach at UW Andy earned the NCAA Rookie Coach of the Year, as well as earning Big Ten Coach of the Year.
Here we have two matches of Andy's. The first Andy defeats Nate Carr (formerly from Iowa State) at the 1984 Olympic Trials. Andy hits a couple of sweet throws on his way to a dominating win.
The second match Andy is wrestling in a 1982 dual between the USA and Bulgaria. Andy wrestles Ivan Yankov, a 1980 Olympic Silver Medalist and 3X European Champion
