This past weekend we won our 10 th straight WIAC title. This meant a lot to our university, team, coaches and alumni. We have a very proud and supportive alumni family here at UWL and we are proud to carry on the tradition of winning the WIAC.
Our whole team did a great job of fighting and competing this weekend as we crowned 7 champs on Sunday. Jordan Kolinski 133, Jake Larsen 149, Ross Needham 157, Tim Palmer 165, Josh Chelf 174, Jason Lulloff 184 and Dan Laurent HWT won titles. Jim Swanson 197 finished 3 rd and qualified for the NCAA tournament also.
We are currently on mile 24 as we can now see the finish line as we prepare for the end of this marathon season. We have had some high points and low points, our bodies have gone through hell and back (coaches included), but now is the time to gain the rewards for all of the hard work. Practices are really intense and short and the guys are really relaxed as we have 6 of our 8 guys with NCAA experience.
I am very excited to be able to attend my first Wisconsin State Championship this week. I can't wait to get into the arena and feel the excitement and energy.
Best of luck to the other college teams as they prepare for Division 2 and Division 1 National Tournaments.
